MEET SAM

​Hi! I’m Samuel Cox, a wildlife photographer, fantasy author and lifelong lover of stories and experiences that transport people to wild and unforgettable worlds.

 

For more than two decades, I’ve travelled extensively across Africa, spending countless hours in some of the wildest places on Earth. As a professional wildlife photographer and safari host, I’ve witnessed moments of breathtaking beauty, raw survival, and the often-unforgiving realities of nature. Those experiences have profoundly shaped the stories I tell.

​My writing is inspired by classic fantasy adventures, dark folklore, medieval history, and the enduring themes of courage, sacrifice, and survival. I'm particularly drawn to stories that place ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, where difficult choices carry real consequences and where hope must be fought for in the face of overwhelming darkness.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually leading photographic safaris, exploring new landscapes with a camera in hand, or developing new worlds, characters, and stories. The same curiosity that drives me to photograph wildlife also fuels my passion for storytelling, as both are about capturing moments that make us feel something meaningful.
